.I know I have some fellow comrades out there that use the Netflix streaming service. That being said, I like the service, but I hate that they don't have a preview function. Anyway, in what I hope will be a reoccurring post, here are some Netflix finds that are gold and maybe you can share some with me that you like as well:
1. Party Down - pretty much every episode is hilarious. This is a TV series that was made for Starz. Yep, that's right, Starz. Who even knew they had original programming? Like some other fellow blogger or commentator said, I thought Starz is where movies went to die? Anyway, it's great and there are two full seasons available on Netflix's streaming service. Credit for this find: Max & Sarah. Enjoy.
2. The Vice Guide to Travel - these guys are certifiable. They travel to the worst, and I mean THE WORST, places on earth. One particular episode of interest is their trip to Liberia where they met with General Butt Naked, a.k.a. Joshua Blayhi, an ex-war lord. The General claims to have sacrificed thousands of small children, engaged in cannibalism and to have fought 'butt naked' against his enemies (apparently, being naked made him invisible). I am not trying to make light of the matter and neither does the cast & crew. It is a real eye-opener.
In another episode, they travel to North Korea. Yep, NORTH Korea. They were able to get into the country by bribing Chinese officials in a Chinese border town. From there, the North Korean's took their passports, they loaded a bus and were escorted around the country on this very bizarre, overly executed and very much planned national excursion through the "Democratic" People's Republic of North Korea.
It is a MUST see.
3. The Last Airbender - go ahead. Laugh. Get it ALLLLL out. Blah, blah, blah...cheesy kid movie...blah, blah, blah...M. Night Shamalyan is no good anymore...blah, blah, blah... I don't care what anyone says, this movie was entertaining, visually stimulating and heart warming. And what's not to love, kids creating ice water balls to hurl at their enemies and moving wind to challenging the evil fire gods...what's better than that? Nothing I tell you, nothing. So go turn your air-conditioning down to 63 degrees, get a glass of Zin and cozy up with a fleece blanket for this gem. I promise you won't be disappointed.
.Hopefully I will have more to come as I watch more movies & shows on Netflix's streaming service. So please stay tuned.
